Review Process

Manuscript Submission. The manuscript is submitted to the journal by the contributing author through the journal's official email.

Managing Editor's Evaluation. The journal evaluates the manuscript's content according to its submission guidelines to ensure that it contains the necessary sections and technical elements. The manuscript will also go through the plagiarism check and must get less than a 10% similarity index.

Evaluation by the Editor in Chief (EIC). The EIC examines the paper to see if it fits the journal and is appropriately insightful and original. If not, the EIC will reject the article without further evaluation.

Request for Reviews. The managing editor requests two reviewers they think would be qualified critics of the submitted manuscript.

Accept Review Request. Any reviewers evaluate the request based on their specialization, potential conflicts of interest, and availability. Then, they decide whether to accept or reject. When refusing, they may also offer suggestions for different reviewers.

Conduct Review. The reviewer has a month at most to evaluate the manuscript. The review is then sent to the editors along with a suggestion to publish it or not, as well as a need for improvement (often marked as either major or minor) before it is taken into consideration.

Assessment of the Reviews. Before reaching a final decision, the managing editor considers all of the received reviews. In addition,  if the reviews are significantly different, the editor may ask a third reviewer to obtain a second standpoint before making a decision.

Communication of the Decision. An email with the editor's decision and any pertinent reviewer feedback is sent to the contributor.

Steps to Take

The managing editor should provide the contributor helpful feedback from the reviewers if the article is rejected or returned for a significant or minor modification. Reviewers will also get an email informing them of the results of their review. Unless they have chosen to forego future participation, reviewers should anticipate receiving a new version of the work if it was returned for improvement. Once the reviewers satisfy with the revisions made, the managing editor will send the acceptance letter to the contributor and submit the revised manuscript to production for publication.
